Kathryn Deo*

Principal

Kathryn lives and works in the unceded territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən People. She works exclusively with Indigenous groups and organizations on matters related to governance. Kathryn’s practice is focused primarily on the negotiation and implementation of self-governance agreements and arrangements. She also enjoys facilitating workshops and training sessions on matters related to governance, and working with Indigenous groups on developing their Constitutions and laws.

Kathryn is a practicing member of the Law Societies of British Columbia and Nunavut and a non-practicing member of the Law Society of the Northwest Territories. She is also general counsel to the First Nations Finance Authority.

Kathryn holds an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall, and previously served as a member of the Tsawwassen First Nation Judicial Council.

Kathryn is recognized in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada as among Canada’s top practitioners in Aboriginal Law.

Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, hiking, cycling, and spending time with her family and dogs.
